The Chairmanship hopeful of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Sunday Babatunde has extended heartfelt felicitations to all mothers across Oyo State, particularly those in Ibadan South East Local Government, on the occasion of International Mother’s Day.
In a statement issued through his Director of Strategy, Media and Publicity, Kehinde Gbadeyanka, Hon. Babatunde described mothers as outstanding supporters and strategic drivers of both family and society, whose influence remains invaluable to the growth of husbands, children, and the community at large.
He noted that mothers play indispensable roles across all spheres of life—social, economic, and political—stressing that “a home without a mother is empty, lacking joy, warmth, and true direction.”
Hon. Babatunde expressed concern over the low turnout of women, especially mothers, in politics, urging governments at all levels to prioritize their inclusion in leadership and decision-making positions. He emphasized that women have consistently proven themselves as dependable pillars who sustain families and support societal progress.
He further encouraged mothers to continue to uphold their noble roles with godliness, integrity, and unwavering values while remaining steadfast in shaping the moral fabric of society.
Praying for all mothers, Hon. Babatunde wished them long life, good health, sound minds, and the grace to reap the fruits of their labour.
