Hon. Abeeb Idowu Balogun, a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Ibadan South West Constituency 2 seat in the 2027 State House of Assembly elections.
At a crowded declaration ceremony held at UMC School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan Balogun popularly known as ‘AIBSeyi’, demonstrated his commitment to the party by donating ₦2.5 million as a Ramadan gift to members across the 12 wards.
The event was attended by top leaders, including former council chairman Hon. Abass Aleshinloye and LG Chairman, Balogun Olumide Murphy.
In his speech, Balogun praised Governor Seyi Makinde’s “unprecedented achievements,” framing his candidacy as an extension of the Governor’s excellence.
He also announced a mega financial empowerment for 500 people set for April 4, 2026, alongside a youth football tournament.
“This donation is to support our members during this holy season as we prepare for a landmark in 2027,”
Balogun noted.
The upcoming April empowerment is expected to host PDP National Secretary Amb. Taofeek Arapaja, Otunba Seye Famojuro, Alhaja Modinatu Abosede Adedibu and other eminent personalities.
