
The House of Assembly hopeful for Ibadan South East Constituency II, Hon. Sunday Babatunde (Number One), has expressed profound sympathy with victims of the devastating fire outbreak that recently ravaged shops and properties at Oju Odo Junction, Balaro Academy area, leaving many traders and residents with enormous losses.
In a statement, Hon. Babatunde described the inferno as a heartbreaking tragedy that has disrupted the livelihoods of many hardworking individuals and families. He lamented the destruction of goods, businesses, and valuable properties, noting that the emotional and financial impact on the victims cannot be overstated.

The PDP chieftain extended his heartfelt condolences to all those affected, praying that Almighty God grants them the strength, courage, and resilience to overcome the unfortunate incident. He also expressed gratitude that no significant loss of lives was recorded, urging victims not to lose hope despite the challenges occasioned by the disaster.
Hon. Babatunde further appealed to the Oyo State Government, relevant emergency management agencies, corporate organizations, philanthropists, and public-spirited individuals to urgently come to the aid of the victims through financial assistance, relief materials, and other forms of support that would help them rebuild their lives and businesses.

He emphasized the importance of fire prevention measures, urging residents to be vigilant in handling electrical appliances and other combustible materials. According to him, public enlightenment on safety practices and prompt reporting of potential hazards remain crucial in preventing future occurrences.
While reaffirming his solidarity with the affected residents during this difficult period, Hon. Babatunde expressed optimism that the community would recover from the setback through collective support, compassion, and unity.

“My thoughts and prayers are with every victim of this unfortunate inferno. May Almighty God restore all that has been lost, comfort every affected family, and grant our community the strength to emerge stronger from this tragedy,” he stated.
