The lawmaker representing Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Akinmoyede Olafisoye Wasiu, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Moses Alake Adeyemo, on his emergence as the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State.
The Chairman and other members of the State Executive Committee were affirmed during the State Congress held today at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Liberty Road, Ibadan.
Hon. Akinmoyede in a congratulatory statement issued on his behalf by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Oyedapo Oyewole described the emergence of Otunba Adeyemo as a significant milestone for the party, noting that his wealth of experience as a former Deputy Governor and a seasoned administrator is exactly what the party needs at this critical juncture. He praised the peaceful conduct of the congress and the spirit of consensus that led to the affirmation of the new leadership.
Speaking on the task ahead, the lawmaker urged the newly inaugurated executives to make the unity and stability of the party their topmost priority. He emphasized that a house divided against itself cannot stand, calling on all party faithful to bury their differences and rally behind the new leadership to foster a more cohesive political family.
Hon. Akinmoyede also charged the new leadership to immediately begin the work of repositioning the APC for a total victory in the 2027 general elections.
Hon. Akinmoyede stated. “I have full confidence that under the leadership of Otunba Adeyemo, the APC will move from strength to strength, ensuring that our party remains the preferred choice for the electorate across all 33 local government areas.”
The lawmaker concluded by wishing the Chairman and his executive team a successful and impactful tenure, pledging his continued support and cooperation to ensure the party’s progress and eventual triumph in the coming years.
