In a bold move signaling his commitment to revitalizing Nigeria’s main opposition party, His Excellency Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, former Deputy Governor of Oyo State and current Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), today submitted his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for the position of National Secretary at the PDP National Convention Organizing Committee (NCOC) Secretariat in Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja.

The submission, made just hours before the party’s extended deadline, underscores Arapaja’s deep-rooted dedication to the PDP’s democratic ethos and his vision for a more inclusive, efficient administrative backbone as the party gears up for the 2027 general elections.

Arapaja, a seasoned diplomat and party stalwart who is currently serving as a PDP Deputy National Chairman (South) since 2021, arrived at the secretariat amid cheers from supporters and party faithful, including loyalists from Oyo State and the South-West zone.

Flanked by his political allies and representatives from the PDP’s National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC), he handed over the duly completed forms to an administrative staff of NCOC.

The timing of Arapaja’s bid is particularly poignant, coming on the heels of recent zoning decisions that have reshuffled the National Working Committee (NWC) positions.

Arapaja’s candidacy aligns seamlessly with the PDP’s current zoning arrangement, positioning him as a frontrunner backed by influential figures in the south west and across the country.
