Arapaja’s journey began in 1992, when he stepped onto the political stage as Commissioner for the Oyo State Teaching Service Commission. His remarkable contributions to the commission laid the groundwork for many educational reforms that elevated the quality of education in Oyo State. Ambassador Arapaja’s diplomatic skills and political acumen gained international recognition, and he was soon appointed as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Jordan by President Goodluck Jonathan. During this period, he was concurrently accredited as Ambassador to Iraq, a rare and prestigious dual appointment. His ambassadorship was a resounding success, as he fostered strong bilateral ties between Nigeria and these Middle Eastern nations, advancing Nigeria’s interests abroad and promoting diplomacy. His tenure was lauded for its effectiveness, grace, and commitment to fostering Nigeria’s image on the global stage.
Returning to Nigeria after his ambassadorial duties, Ambassador Arapaja continued to contribute his expertise to the political landscape. In 2021, he was appointed as the National Vice Chairman (South-West) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
