
The Interim National Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has congratulated the Muslim ummah in Ibadanland, Oyo State and across the globe on this year’s Eid-el-Kabir (Ileya) celebration, urging them to embody the core lessons of the festival.
In a statement issued by Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja’s Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim and made available to journalists, he called on Muslims to reflect on the current security challenges facing Oyo State and Nigeria.

Ambassador Arapaja extended his congratulatory message to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, his deputy, Barr. Abdulrahim Adebayo Lawal, Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Abdulganiyy Agbotomokekere, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, (Edo and Delta States), Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola and other Islamic leaders
Arapaja who is the former Deputy governor and PDP gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State made a passionate appeal for fervent prayers seeking divine intervention to end the wave of insecurity, specifically mentioning the urgent need for the safe return of students and teachers still held captive by kidnappers in the Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

He equally enjoined political players in the country to learn to play according to the rules and pray for peaceful conduct of the election as the 2027 election cycle approaches.
