The chairmanship hopeful of Ibadan South East Local Government, Hon. Sunday Babatunde, has declared his total support for the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, ahead of the 2027 Presidential Election, describing him as a visionary leader with the competence and compassion needed to reposition Nigeria for greatness. This declaration was made under the advocacy themed “A Path to Reset Agenda,” which emphasizes national rebirth, responsible leadership, and sustainable development.

Hon. Babatunde stated that Governor Seyi Makinde has consistently distinguished himself through purposeful governance, infrastructural transformation, economic reforms, and people-oriented policies in Oyo State. According to him, Makinde’s leadership style has restored confidence in governance and proven that transparent administration can directly improve the lives of the people. He noted that Nigeria presently requires tested and experienced leadership capable of addressing insecurity, unemployment, and economic instability.

Speaking further, Hon. Babatunde stressed that the “Reset Agenda” is built on key national priorities including security, economic growth, youth empowerment, quality education, and good governance. He maintained that Governor Makinde possesses the administrative capacity, political maturity, and developmental vision necessary to lead Nigeria toward unity, progress, and prosperity. He added that the achievements recorded in Oyo State have become a strong reference point for effective governance across the country.

The chairmanship hopeful also called on Nigerian youths, professionals, market men and women, artisans, and progressive-minded citizens to support leaders with proven records of accountability and service delivery. He emphasized that the future of Nigeria depends on collective commitment towards electing credible leaders who prioritize the welfare of the people above personal or political interests. According to him, the time has come for Nigerians to embrace leadership that inspires hope and delivers measurable results.

This was contained in a statement issued through his Director of Strategic, Media and Publicity, Kehinde Gbadeyanka, who reaffirmed Hon. Sunday Babatunde’s commitment to grassroots mobilization, democratic values, and advocacy for good governance. The statement concluded with the assurance that with unity, competence, and visionary leadership, “A Better Nigeria is Possible,” while urging citizens to join hands in resetting the nation for a brighter future.
