The Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board, who is also the Oyo South Senatorial District hopeful, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige has been conferred with Lifetime Achievement Award by the Faculty of Financial Management Studies of The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
While presenting the award to Hon Akeem Ademola Ige , the Dean of Faculty , Financial Management Studies, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Dr Adekola Omotayo Ajibike said Hon Ige was considered for the lifetime Achievement Award for his exemplary contributions to public service particularly his impactful tenure as the Executive Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government., his leadership in culture and tourism .
Also, Hon Ige’s role as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board has made a significant difference coupled with his status as a distinguished alumnus of the Polytechnic Ibadan .
Hon Ige was represented at the “2026 FFMS Distinguished Public Lecture Series” programme held at the school Assembly Hall by the Internal Auditor of the Board Alhaji Raifu Najimdeen .
While receiving the award, Hon Akeem Ademola Ige said he dedicated the award to the best performing Governor, Engr Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde that gave him the opportunity to serve under the present administration in the state.
He noted that he has received several awards from various unions, faculties , departments and further stated that the award is the fifteenth award received from the Polytechnic Ibadan so far.
Similarly, Hon Ige said he has been contributing his own quota to the development of The Polytechnic, Ibadan being his Alma Mater in many ways . He said he rehabilitated the Engineering Drawing room at the South campus and equipped it with learning facilities, scholarship and busary to indigent FIBSU students, he ensured that many graduates of the school were employed when he was the chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government in which some of them are now Directors at Local, State and federal levels. he added that he has been supporting students union and management in diverse ways.
He then promised to continue to put smiles on the faces of humanity if given the chance at higher level of governance.
Dignitaries present at the occasion include the Rector, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Professor Taiwo Lasisi, officials of the Oyo State Local Government Staff Pension Board and other eminent personalities.
