Loyalty, competence, and an admirable record of service often speak louder than words. They remain the true currency of political relevance and lasting leadership. In the case of Taofeek Oladejo Arapaja, these virtues have consistently defined his political journey, marked by steadfast commitment, humility, and unwavering dedication to public service.

Prior to his emergence as the National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Amb. Arapaja had already built an enviable political résumé. His political voyage began as the Chairman of Ibadan South East Local Government, where he served as the first citizen of the council with distinction. From there, he rose through the ranks to become a member of the House of Representatives, later serving as Deputy Governor of Oyo State.

His service to the nation extended beyond domestic politics when he was appointed Nigeria’s Ambassador to Jordan, further strengthening his profile as a statesman of national and international relevance.

Within the party structure, he also served as National Deputy Chairman (South) of the PDP before ascending to his current role as the substantive National Secretary of the party.
Remarkably, Arapaja’s political trajectory has never been characterized by desperation or inordinate ambition. Rather, his ascent reflects a steady recognition of his loyalty, competence, and credibility. Few public office holders have experienced such consistent elevation across both governmental and party structures.

His political sportsmanship has earned him widespread respect, not only within Oyo State but among Nigerians in the diaspora and the global political community. Indeed, his journey continues to inspire many who see in him a model of principled leadership and disciplined political engagement.

Arapaja has increasingly become a school of thought, an institution of political learning, and a juggernaut of progressive politics—far removed from the shenanigans and mendacious tendencies that often plague political spaces. Truly, he is “Oluomo for a reason.”

In acknowledging this remarkable elevation, one can not overlook the role of Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State, whose leadership continues to nurture capable individuals and promote excellence within the political landscape. Governor Makinde has demonstrated himself as a builder of men, a discoverer of talent, and a visionary engineer of modern Oyo State. Posterity will undoubtedly judge his contributions kindly.

Today, Arapaja stands not merely as a political figure but as a movement beyond politics. His influence and networks extend far beyond Oyo State, resonating across Nigeria and increasingly gaining global recognition.
