In a bold move to revolutionise the state’s public service and improve the quality of the State Civil Service, Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration has sent a clear message that leadership development is key to unlocking Oyo State’s vast potential by the approval granted 12 senior civil servants, selected from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), t o participate in a five-day training programme organised by Acme Professionals in collaboration with the Institute of Government and Public Policy at Conference Aston, Aston University, Birmingham, United Kingdom

The comprehensive curriculum included modules on Strategic Leadership Fundamentals, Emotional Intelligence, and Leading Change and Transformation, among others.

But this initiative goes beyond mere training; it’s a strategic investment in the state’s human capital. The programme’s unique blend of classroom learning and site visits to esteemed public institutions in Birmingham and London has provided participants with invaluable insights into effective governance models, innovative policy frameworks, and people-centric leadership approaches.

The Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Olubunmi Oni, mni, appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde for his continuous support for international training which shows his passion to have a competent and professional civil service.
“We are confident that the knowledge and skills acquired by these officers will be leveraged to drive development and improve service delivery to our citizens.”

With the empowerment of civil servants with world-class skills and knowledge, the state is poised to enhance its governance, drive economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life for its citizens.
