As Muslims around the world celebrated Eid el-Maulud this year, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) deputy national chairman for the south, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, has congratulated the Muslim ummah in Nigeria urging them to continue to pray for Nigerians and its current leaders.

This was contained in a statement signed by him and made available through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim to newsmen in Ibadan.

According to the release, “Eid-el-Maulud marks the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, whose life exemplifies peace, love, and kindness towards all mankind and serves as an enduring guide for all believers.

“It is important for us to use this opportunity to pray for our country and our leaders, that they may be guided aright and take actions that will promote the peace, unity, and progress of our dear nation.”

Amb. Arapaja urged the Muslims to reflect on the teachings of the Holy Prophet and imbibe his exemplary qualities of compassion as well as selflessness towards one another.

He expressed the hope that the country will overcome these challenging times, including insecurity, economic challenges and social unrest through ceaseless prayers.

He wished all Muslims a happy Eid celebration, praying Almighty Allah to bless and crown all efforts with outstanding success.
