The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja Olubadan Oba has commiserated with the Oyo State government, Ibadan people and the entire family of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin who died yesterday shortly after he celebrated his 90th, describing his passage as heartbreaking.
Ambassador Arapaja’s condolence message was contained in a statement he personally issued but made available to journalists in Ibadan.

According to the statement, “Ibadanland is enveloped in grief following the passing of the 43rd Olubadan, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, in the early hours of this morning just two days after celebrating his 90th birthday on July 5 and five days before completing a full year on the throne.
Oba Olakulehin’s brief reign as a revered traditional ruler ended abruptly, leaving a profound void in Ibadan’s cultural landscape.

His one-year on the throne falling just short of its first anniversary, was marked by his commitment to unity and the preservation of Ibadan’s rich heritage. As a former House of Representatives member, he brought wisdom and experience to the throne,
On behalf of the entire Arapaja family of Kudeti, in the Ibadan South East local government, I commiserate with the government and the good people of Ibadanland over the unfortunate death of our revered monarch, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin (Ige Olakulehin 1). May God Almighty God reposed his soul and grant his family, Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole the fortitude to bear the loss.” Arapaja prayed.
