The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has congratulated Muslims nationwide, particularly in the southern part of the country on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1447 AH.
In the congratulatory message signed by Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja and made available to journalists through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim, he described the new Islamic calendar as a time for renewed commitment to the values of peace, justice, and peaceful co-existence among one another.
Arapaja who stressed the significance of Hijrah to Islamic believers, enjoined Muslims to continue to be courageous, persevere and not relent in their unwavering faith in Allah and summah of the holy prophet Muhammad.
He further called on Muslims to use the occasion to rededicate themselves to nation-building by promoting love, tolerance and peaceful coexistence among their neighbours.
Arapaja prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the Muslims and the entire Nigeria a year filled with peace, progress and prosperity.
