The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the People’s Democratic Party, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja has commiserated with the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and by extension Chief Meredith Adisa Akinloye family over the unfortunate death of

the former Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Zambia and member of the Oyo State Elders’ Council, her Excellency, Ambassador Ibironke Adefope who died this morning after a brief illness, describing her death as a rude shock.

Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja made this known in a condolence statement he personally issued but made available to journalists through his Personal Assistant, Bamitale Ibrahim.

Ambassador Arapaja stated that the deceased during her lifetime made numerous and unforgettable contributions to the development of Nigeria on the one part and Oyo State on the other.

Arapaja who said Amb. Adefope’s death came at the time when her advice was mostly needed, however, enjoined her immediate family and Oyo State as a whole to take solace in the fact that she left indelible marks that would be difficult to erase.

Arapaja extended his condolence message to the entire Chief Meredith Adisa Akinloye who was her grandfather, Ms. Tara Adefope and the entire members of the Governor’s Advisory Council.

He prayed to God to grant the deceased an eternal rest and the family she left behind the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
